Lisa Finegan Receives The Foundation for Global Sports' Development's 2021 Athletes in Excellence Award! 

Our ICEF Director of PE, View Park HS Athletic Director, and Head Girls Rugby Coach, Lisa Finegan, has bagged another prestigious global award. She is among ten athletes selected to receive The Foundation for Global Sports Development's 2021 Athletes in Excellence Award. 

"Lisa Finegan (Rugby) Lisa is known internationally for her achievements on the rugby pitch, both as a competitor and a coach. In 2020, Lisa received the World Rugby 7's Series USA Developmental Coach of the Year Award in recognition of her innovative style of coaching that incorporates Social and Emotional Learning and a philosophy of inclusion. She has worked to incorporate leadership programs for student-athletes, striving to develop the whole person through positive coaching". 

Lisa was listed with the following winners; Kym Hightower (Track Paralympian), Rudy Garcia-Tolson (Swimming Paralympian), Cody Jones (Javelin Paralympian), Amanda McGrory (Cycling Paralympian), Linnell Jones-McKenney (Basketball – African American Sports Hall of Fame Inductee), Carissa Moore (Surfing Olympian), Stewart Pimblett (Wheelchair Curling and Wheelchair Basketball), Cyrille Tchatchet II (Weightlifting Olympian) and Wellington Zaza (Hurdler)

ICEF 2021 Sports 4 Life Grantee Recognized by espnW and Women's Sports Foundation!

ICEF has been recognized as a Sports 4 Life grantee again by espnW and The Women's Sports Foundation! The Women's Sports Foundation seeks to increase the participation and retention of African-American and Hispanic girls, ages 11-18, in developmental youth sports programs. 

2021 funding is made possible by Sports 4 Life founding partner espnW, Morgan Stanley, The Walt Disney Company, and the Katie and Perrie Fund.

ICEF is grateful and thrilled to be part of this fantastic initiative that we have always believed in and supported. A better tomorrow starts with a better understanding and education today.

Senior Captain, Saniya Davis Receives All-League Award!

Saniya Davis, a senior at View Park High School, received an All-League Award for her outstanding performance and leadership role during the 2021 Volleyball Season. Top players in each team in the league receive this award.

Davis was a captain for the Lady Knights and led the team in assists and digs. Coach Lasater was overjoyed to present this award to Saniya, saying, "I am so proud of Saniya. Davis played a key role in the success of our team this year. She was a strong captain and leader on and off the floor. She is one of those players that you wish you could replicate and keep around forever. We will miss her and all the other seniors next season." 

Davis is involved in multiple leadership organizations like the student council, the national honor society, and YELL. After graduating, she plans on attending Howard University and studying women's studies. We are so proud of you, Saniya!

VP Football's Convincing Win, Homecoming Success & Play-Offs! 

View Park won convincingly against Locke last week in their final season game! Massive thank you to our incredible student-athletes and inspiring coaching staff; Seger Phillips, Roy Sanchez, and Dominick Aguirre. Finally, a huge thank you to our football managers who have supported us throughout the entire season; Deozane Thompson, Cierra Babb, Jabriyah Price, and Kamora King!

We are excited to take on Contreras this coming Friday, November 5th, at Belmont High School (1575 W 2nd Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90026) at 4 pm!

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors.
